The August Fruit Salad

The August Fruit Salad

Maybe fruit salad is just too boring for the Internet, and yet, here we are – I’m telling you one of my fave fruit salad recipes, and I can already feel the haters just waiting to pounce. “Who does she think she is, telling us how to make fruit salad?!”, “Oh, she’s a real fancy foodie if she needs to tell us how to cut up fruit and throw it in a bowl”. Haters gonna hate, but I’d be a real jerk if I didn’t share this fruit salad recipe with you, especially because it’s a fruit salad made with August fruit! I want to give you as much time as possible to enjoy it!

I think when most people think of fruit salad, they think strawberries, grapes, pineapple, and, of course, kiwi because somehow those always sneak their way into the mix. BUT believe it or not, your fruit salad will taste it’s absolute best if you choose your fruit based on the season. Strawberries in May, Citrus in January, and stonefruit and blackberries for August. The minute I learned this, my fruit salad game went up about 10 notches. If you were today years old when you learned this, then welcome to the fruit salad big leagues, baby!

Make this for a crowd or make it for yourself…it’s perfect on a swipe of whipped cream for dessert or a layer of greek yogurt for breakfast!
